How Does a Fractional Laser Work?

Fractional thermolysis is performed using the German Asclepion Dermablate fractional laser. The laser produces a rejuvenating effect and corrects imperfections of the skin of the face, neck, and décolleté.

A distinctive feature of the fractional laser is that it works with micro-areas (fractions). Intact areas of skin remain around them. Cells from these unaffected areas actively participate in skin renewal, helping the skin recover faster. Recovery after a fractional laser is shorter than after traditional laser resurfacing.

The visible effect of a fractional laser procedure results from the skin’s response to controlled thermal and micro-traumatic injury. In the skin layers, collagen and elastin production increases, and the formation of new cells accelerates.

Within a week after the procedure, all damaged cells fully exfoliate. The results become visible: wrinkles become shallower, skin tone and texture improve, and facial contours become more defined.

Fractional Laser: What to Expect After the Procedure

After undergoing fractional laser treatments and allowing your skin time to heal, you’ll notice positive changes right away:

  • skin tone and texture become more even;

  • scars are reduced, smoothed, and become less noticeable;

  • wrinkles are softened;

  • pigmentation is reduced or may disappear;

  • overall, the skin is rejuvenated and renewed through collagen production.

There is no need to be afraid of micro-injuries after a fractional laser procedure. Client reviews confirm that skin recovery is very fast and the results fully justify expectations.

    For 7–10 days before the procedure, it is not advisable to have peels or tan. Otherwise, no special preparation is required. The process takes 30 to 60 minutes. Be prepared for some discomfort during the procedure. To minimize discomfort, an anesthetic cream is applied to the treatment area and covered with film.

    Swelling and redness may occur after the procedure and usually disappear the next day. They are replaced by tiny crusts in the form of microdots, which resolve within 3–7 days after the procedure.
